1. Cookie-Free & Tracker-Free Architecture

This website (https://francescocastaldi.it) is built on a 100% cookie-free architecture. It does not set, store, or access any cookies, local storage identifiers, or tracking tokens on your device.

Under the European Union ePrivacy Directive (Directive 2002/58/EC, amended by Directive 2009/136/EC) and applicable European data protection laws, websites that do not set cookies or access terminal equipment do not require an annoying cookie consent banner or pop-up. You can browse every page without being tracked or prompted to accept cookies.

Telemetry is provided via Vercel Web Analytics, which operates in privacy-preserving mode without cookies, without persistent identifiers, and without logging personal IP addresses.

3. EU AI Act Freedom & Compliance Statement (Regulation EU 2024/1689)

The European Union Artificial Intelligence Act (Regulation EU 2024/1689) establishes harmonised rules on AI systems. This website strictly adheres to all applicable provisions:

  • Zero Generative AI Chatbots: There are no AI chatbots, automated conversational agents, synthetic personas, or interactive generative models operating on this site (exempt under Article 50).
  • Zero Prohibited Practices: No systems for biometric categorization, social scoring, emotion recognition, or behavioral manipulation are utilized (Article 5 compliance).
  • No High-Risk AI Classification: The site does not host, deploy, or operate any high-risk AI system listed in Annex III of the Regulation.
  • Scientific Research Exemption: Any machine learning algorithms, deep learning models, or data science case studies documented on the projects page (such as cell classification, weather nowcasting, or tabular prediction) are open-source academic research prototypes. They are entirely governed by the statutory research and development exemptions under Article 2(6) and Article 2(12) of Regulation (EU) 2024/1689.

4. Open Source Licensing & Intellectual Property

The source code of this personal website is freely available on GitHub under the MIT License. Contributions to open-source upstream projects conform to the Developer Certificate of Origin (DCO) and individual project licensing terms.

This website is hosted by Vercel Inc. Content delivery and edge network routing comply with standard European data protection safeguards and contractual clauses.
